SEDA Successfully Connects The Genesis Validator Batch To Testnet

In a string of recent milestones leading toward mainnet, SEDA has successfully onboarded the first five validators to begin battle-testing the network. The genesis validator batch represents the first five of one hundred validators set to secure the SEDA main chain.

Joining the SEDA network in batch one includes Polkachu, Rhino, DAIC Capital, WhisperNode, and Lavendar Five. SEDA will continue to announce the remaining batches to make up the final list of validators in time for mainnet toward the end of Q1.

What Significance Does The Genesis Validator Batch Hold?

For the SEDA mainchain to deploy successfully, there must be coordination between the initial validators and an initial seed that executes the genesis SEDA mainnet block. As Validators successfully join the SEDA network, the engineering team can begin more stringent network testing and ensure complete coordination before the SEDA mainnet launch.

What Role Do Validators Play On The Mainchain?

Validators are responsible for adding transactions to the SEDA blockchain by reaching a consensus on transaction submissions. A validator is software that verifies and stores data to add new blocks on a proof-of-stake (POS) blockchain. SEDA aims to have upward of 100 active validators securing the main chain. The more validators a blockchain has, the more decentralized it becomes by spreading the network and not consolidating from one or a few single entities.
