The SEDA community had an exciting March, with numerous advances and developments to report. Here’s a quick summary of what we accomplished this month!

Oracles and web3 Social Platforms

Web3 social platforms have gained immense popularity due to their decentralized and peer-to-peer nature. Platforms like Lens Protocol, Mirror, Farcaster, Showtime, Ora, Nostr, and Mastodon have provided users with more control over their data and interactions. These platforms operate on a peer-to-peer network, enabling users to participate in global networks without the need for intermediaries.

As the web3 ecosystem continues to expand, social platforms have emerged as a key component of the decentralized web. However, these platforms face unique challenges when it comes to reputation tracking, identity verification, content moderation, and analytics. These challenges can be addressed by leveraging decentralized oracle networks like SEDA.

SEDA x Hera Finance

SEDA has partnered with Hera Finance, an AI-powered multichain dex aggregator. Hera directly connects automated market maker (AMM) pools together no matter the provider and will find all direct/multihop routes between any two tokens on multichain.

SEDA Engineering: March Update

This past month was challenging as we got closer than ever to delivering the first versions of the SEDA protocol with working functionalities. The Engineering Team focused on the following:

  • Explorer scoping
  • Basic consensus logic
  • Staking CLI commands
  • Testing, testing, and more testing

Explorer Scoping

Along with finalizing the code-based automatic deployments started in the past month, we defined the scope of the SEDA Explorer MVP by researching and identifying the feature wishlist for future versions.

Basic Consensus

We implemented basic consensus logic in our smart contracts and node reference implementation. This included algorithms for randomly selecting validator committees and slot leaders in charge of submitting off-chain P2P data.

Staking CLI

As part of adding more functionalities to our reference implementation of the SEDA protocol, we continued to improve our CLI (Command Line Interface) by adding commands to cover the whole node operator life cycle.

Testing, Testing, and More Testing

The SEDA Protocol requires flawless integration between the logic built in WASM and our main-chain smart contracts. To achieve this, we conducted numerous tests that cover different execution paths, with special attention given to integration and end-to-end testing.
